How do I sign in with Google or another provider?

ReserveTheNight supports signing in with your Google account as an alternative to creating a separate email and password.

How to sign in with Google

1. Go to the ReserveTheNight login page.
2. Click the Sign in with Google button.
3. A Google authentication window will open - select the Google account you want to use and grant the requested permissions.
4. You are now signed in to ReserveTheNight.

First-time users: If this is the first time you have signed in with this Google account, ReserveTheNight will automatically create an account for you using your Google email address and display name. No additional registration is required.

Returning users: Simply click the button each time you want to sign in - no password is needed.

Google accounts and email/password accounts are separate

It is important to know that a Google-linked account and an email/password account are two separate accounts, even if both use the same email address. They cannot be merged automatically.

If you create an account by signing in with Google, you cannot later sign in to that same account using an email and password - and vice versa.

OAuthAccountNotLinked error

If you see an error message saying "OAuthAccountNotLinked" or similar when attempting to sign in with Google, it means the email address associated with your Google account is already registered on ReserveTheNight using a different sign-in method (email and password).

To resolve this:

• Use the email and password form to sign in instead
• If you have forgotten the password, use the forgot password page to reset it
