My cancellation request is taking longer than expected - what do I do?
In the vast majority of cases, a cancellation request is processed within a few minutes and you will receive a cancellation confirmation email shortly after.
What to check first
If you submitted a cancellation request but your booking status still shows as "Confirmed", try the following:
- Refresh the page. A brief processing delay can sometimes mean the page has not yet updated to reflect the new status. Wait a minute and then reload.
- Check your email. A cancellation confirmation email may have been sent already. Check your inbox, spam folder, and promotions tab for an email from ReserveTheNight confirming the cancellation.
- Wait up to 30 minutes. Processing can sometimes vary.
If the status still has not changed after 30 minutes
If your booking still shows as "Confirmed" after 30 minutes and you have not received a cancellation confirmation email, contact ReserveTheNight support. When you reach out, please have the following ready:
- Your booking reference number (found in the original confirmation email)
- The approximate time you submitted the cancellation request
- A description of any messages or screens you saw during the cancellation process
Important: do not attempt to cancel again while the first request is processing
If a cancellation request is still in progress, submitting a second cancellation for the same booking may cause unexpected results. Wait for the current request to resolve, or contact support for assistance before trying again.
Cancellation confirmation email not arrived
If the booking status has updated to "Cancelled" in the system but you have not received a confirmation email, check your spam or junk folder.
