What does "due at check-in" mean?
An amount labeled due at check-in or due at the property is not included in the amount ReserveTheNight charges for your booking. The hotel collects it directly, usually when you check in or check out.
The estimate is based on information supplied by the hotel or booking provider. It may include mandatory charges such as:
- resort or destination fees
- local or city taxes collected by the property
- cleaning or service fees
- other property-assessed charges
Is the amount exact?
The displayed amount is an estimate unless the booking details state otherwise. The hotel may update a fee or calculate it using the number of guests, number of nights, exchange rate, or local rules. The hotel can confirm the exact amount and accepted payment methods.
Optional purchases and incidental charges are not normally included in the estimate. These can include parking, breakfast, minibar purchases, room service, pet fees, or damage deposits. A refundable card hold for incidentals may also be required at check-in.
Where can I find the amount?
When provided by the hotel or booking provider, the amount appears separately from the ReserveTheNight booking total on the hotel details or checkout pricing breakdown. Known pay-at-property charges may also appear in your booking details or confirmation email.
Who charges my payment method?
- ReserveTheNight booking total: Charged or authorized as disclosed during checkout.
- Due at check-in amount: Collected separately by the hotel. It will usually appear as a charge from the property rather than ReserveTheNight.
If the hotel requests a mandatory amount that was not disclosed with your booking, ask the front desk for an itemized explanation.
