How do I filter and sort search results?
ReserveTheNight's search results page gives you both filtering and sorting tools to help you find the right hotel quickly.
Filtering your results
The Filters panel on the search results page lets you narrow the displayed hotels based on:
- Max total price - drag the price slider to set a maximum per-night price. Hotels above that threshold are hidden from the results.
- Free cancellation only - tick this checkbox to show only hotels that have at least one room with a free cancellation rate available for your dates.
- Min guest rating - select a minimum guest review score (3+, 3.5+, 4+, or 4.5+) to filter out lower-rated properties. Select "Any" to remove the rating filter.
- Amenities - check one or more amenities to show only hotels offering those features. The amenities available to filter by reflect what is present in the current set of results.
Filters apply immediately and narrow the results in real time. To remove all active filters at once, click the Clear all button at the top of the Filters panel.
Sorting your results
The Sort by dropdown at the top of the results list lets you reorder hotels without removing any:
- Price: Low to High - shows the cheapest available option first
- Price: High to Low - shows the most expensive option first
- Guest Rating - orders by guest review score, highest first
- Distance - orders by proximity to your searched destination, nearest first
Changing the sort order does not remove any hotels from the results - it only changes the sequence in which they appear.
Combining filters and sort
Filters and sort work together. You can, for example, filter to only show hotels with a guest rating of 4+ and free cancellation, then sort those filtered results by price to find the best-value option that meets your criteria.
